Who Do You Say I Am?
Jesus asks us the same question he asked his disciples: “Who do you say I am?” (Mark 8:29)
It’s a crucial question, because how you see Jesus affects how you relate to Jesus. And how you relate to Jesus has everything to do with how you see and relate to God.
Often, we try to put Jesus into the “box” of our personal agenda. Sometimes, like Peter, we might even give all the right answers about who Jesus is, and still put him into our self-serving box!
Jesus loves you too much to let you put him into a box. Only when you know who Jesus really is– the suffering Messiah who died for you– will you discover joy and freedom that comes from knowing who you really are– a dearly beloved child of God who has infinite worth.
