FAMILY PROGRAMS

ARCHERY

This class is for teens and adults who are completely new to archery and want to learn how to shoot a target compound bow. Coached by a nationally certified instructor (NCCP Level 1), you will learn archery techniques and safety followed by progressive target shooting. All equipment provided.

Age: 15+
Class Dates: Saturdays, March 23, April 20, 27, May 4
Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (first class is 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm)
Sessions: 4
Fee: $55
$5 fee for drop-ins (experienced archers)

ADULT PROGRAMS

ESSENTRICS® Stretch & Tone

Led by Level 1 Instructor, Marie

A dynamic, full body workout suitable for men and women of all fitness levels, that simultaneously combines stretching and strengthening while engaging all 650 muscles. This class will increase flexibility and mobility for a healthy,  toned and pain-free body.

Essentrics draws on the flowing movements of tai chi which create health and balance and the strengthening theories behind ballet which create long, lean, flexible muscles.

Date: Mondays, April 8 – May 13
Time: 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Fee: $7 per class or $42 for 6-week program
Materials: Class is best done barefoot, but can use non slip socks or athletic shoes. Must bring your own mat and small towel.

Note: *participants are required to complete a PAR-Q (participant activity readiness questionnaire) upon registration.

Join us every other Thursday after Open Table Thursdays (OTT) for a casual rec volleyball program for anyone ages 16+ of any skill level.

We will be playing some fun recreational games and have space to connect! Each session is $5 and if you join us for OTT you can get both dinner and volleyball for $15.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE 2024

Ultimate Frisbee is a high-energy, non-contact field team sport. Players will be placed on teams to ensure there is a good balance of new and experienced players. If you have friends that you’d like to play with, let us know, and we’ll try our best to accommodate. We welcome players at all skill levels! It is a great place to connect with new friends and stay active.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, feel free to come out on May 21 & May 28 to try it out before signing up.

TABLE TENNIS

Bring a friend and enjoy this recreational sport. Meet others in the neighbourhood who share the same passion for the game. Equipment is provided.

This program aims to:

  • Create supportive, positive experiences for the purpose of building confidence, developing or improving skills and having fun.
  • Create an inclusive environment for all levels of players, particularly for novice players.
  • Encourage experienced players to support novice players to enjoy the game and mentor them to build confidence and have fun.

* The Wednesday morning session is dedicated for beginners and novice players with coaching and drills on basic rules, serve and return, dinking, volley, positioning with partners.
** The Friday morning session caters to Intermediate players who have advanced from the novice level and have developed the basic skills of pickleball

YOUTH PROGRAMS

MULTI-SPORT (Co-Ed)

At this program, our dedicated coaches teach various skills and talk about the importance of developing character both on and off the court.

We use the 10 traits from York Region’s Character Matters Program. Players divide into teams and play!

Sports will include: volleyball, handball, ultimate frisbee and soccer.

Ages: 11 – 14 (Co-ed),
Grades: 6-8
Date: Wednesdays, April 3 – May 29
Time: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Fee: $50 (one time fee/per semester)

After School Drop In

At this free after-school program, adult-supervised space is provided for students to study, play video games, table tennis, foosball, board games and more as well as hang out with other teens in a safe environment. Teachers may also be on hand some weeks for a homework club. Each participant must fill out a Registration Form upon arrival. Proof of age will be required (student ID).
