How many of you love the feeling of something “new”? The smell of a new car, cracking open the pages of a new book, lacing up a new pair of shoes. The promise of something new – whether it’s a new year, a new job or a new friendship – stirs a sense of hope in us that things can be better.
Because it can be easy to feel discouraged. Discouraged by our past, by our mistakes, by our circumstances.
That’s why our hearts hope for something new. A new start, a new opportunity, a new beginning.
But here’s the problem. Over time, that “newness” will eventually fade. That new car smell wears off, that new coat of paint starts to chip, even that new opportunity falls flat.
But there’s one “new” thing that will never fade – and that’s the transformation that Easter brings.
Because the resurrection of Jesus Christ is unlike any ‘new’ thing you’ll ever experience. It’s not a passing feeling. It’s not a temporary change. It’s a radical transformation that rewrites your story, breathes life into what you thought was dead and makes all things… new!
