REECE GARRAWAY
My name is Reece Garraway, I’m 21 years old and for the longest time I’ve been lost. I grew up in a family that at first introduced me to christ and his teachings in christianity but upon moving to Canada much of that was lost. Over the years I became a much different person than I and I think most people around me wanted me to be. I was selfish, motivated solely by my own desires and I didn’t care who or what was affected by that. Because of this I fell into a cycle of self hatred, lustfulness, sloth, and envy. This wasn’t the person that deep down I wanted to be, and so after a night of crying and desperation I prayed for the first time in years not knowing if anyone was even listening. But low and behold my prayers were answered the very next day. Since that day I started seeing Christ everywhere I went, from people I’ve never spoken to before approaching me at the gym or just randomly as I mindlessly scrolled through social media. So I started seeking him out and in doing so I’ve found that because of Jesus’s sacrifice that I, someone who’s spent his entire life in opposition to his will and his word, has the chance for forgiveness and salvation. Because of his sacrifice I feel that i have the responssibitliy to follow his word and with his help mold myself into the best man that I can become so that I might inspire others to pick up their cross and to put their faith in him. This is why I’ve chosen to be baptised, to publicly announce my love and devotion to my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and to share in his death an ressurection. Jesus says in Mathew 7:24-27
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
