HOPE C
Hello everyone, my name is Hope, I am 12 years old, grade 7, and today I’m excited to share my testimony with you all.
I grew up in a Christian household, so I’ve known about God from a very young age. I would tell my friends that I was a Christian and that I believed God was my Lord and Saviour, but deep down, it was hard for me to truly believe that for myself. I had always heard stories about God changing people’s lives, but I never really felt that change happening in me.
But that all changed this year when I went to a Christian summer camp called Willow Springs. One evening, during worship at the outdoor chapel, we were singing a song called Victorious. At that moment, something shifted. I felt that God was nudging me in a way I couldn’t explain, telling me to get baptized. I followed it, and now I’m taking that leap of faith. I had always known that Jesus died for me, but it had never fully sunk in until then. It was as if God opened my eyes and showed me just how deeply He loves and cares for me.
I remember that when both of my sisters got baptized I thought, ‘wow they have so much courage to step up and declare themselves as Jesus Christ followers,’ and I would be thinking I want to be like them and to say that I am a follower of Jesus.
I remember when we were doing the Bible in a year challenge we read the book of Micah and I really liked this verse from Micah chapter 6:8, which says. No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Before I finish, I want to thank my oldest sister, Joy, for spending so many of her evenings with me. Even when she had homework, she still made time to chat and laugh with me, and that meant so much to me.
I would also like to thank my older sister, Faith, for playing volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and other sports with me. She would always ask about my day, and if it had been a bad day, she would try to make me happy, and I would always look forward to chatting with her.
I would like to thank Pastor Kevin for helping me to walk with God. And for my friends and my family, thank you for being there when I needed someone to talk to.
And last but not least I would like to thank my parents because they taught me about God and raised me in a wonderful family helping me to do homeschool, coordinating Markham christian homeschool, co-op, and many other activities.
I would like to thank God for continuously loving me even when I would blame him for my faults. The last thing that I want everyone to know is that it is never too early or too late to get baptized. Thank you.
