WHERE DO MY DONATIONS GO?
FUND DESCRIPTIONS
General Fund: Supports the operations and ministry work at Cornerstone.
Community Care Fund (Formerly Covid fund): Support to the local community in various ways during the pandemic (i.e. providing meals to front line workers)*.
Benevolence Fund: Provides help to those who request assistance to meet basic needs*.
Food Pantry Fund: Provides help to those who request assistance to meet grocery needs*.
Mission Fund (Nicaragua): Supports our partnership with Verbo Church, Nicaragua.
Mission Fund (Roatan): Supports our partnership with Roatan Alive Mission, Honduras.
Mission Fund (Thunder Bay): Supports our partnership with NorthWind Family Ministries, Thunder Bay.
General Mission Fund: Support mission work around the world through Associated Christian Evangelical Ministries (ACEM).
*Unused funds at the end of the year may be designated to the General Fund by the Executive Church Board.
How late in the year can I make a donation and receive a credit for this year’s taxes?
Per CRA regulations, contributions for each year must be received or postmarked by December 31 of that year in order to receive a donation credit for that year’s tax purposes. Please submit your online, mailed, or in-person donation accordingly.
Contribution statements are sent out in July and with your tax donation receipt in February of each year.

DONATING SECURITIES
For any publicly traded stock or mutual fund that you donate, you do not need to declare as taxable income any of the capital gain that you would have otherwise included if you had sold the shares and given the cash proceeds.
In addition, you will receive a tax donation receipt for the amount of the security based on the closing day price on the day it is received. Please note that your gift of security must be a minimum of $500.
The deadline to ensure that your donation can be receipted for 2023 is December 8th for Mutual Funds and December 15th for all other Securities donations.

Attend our weekend services and make a donation in person on Sunday during the service using the giving envelopes we provide. This ensures you get your charitable donations receipt at year end as well as informs us of how you would like your gift allocated.
