FOOD PANTRY

The Cornerstone Pantry strives to extend Jesus’ love to our community by providing non-perishable food to families in need of help.

We make space to listen to stories, build connections, and customize care as a practical means of offering love and hope.

SUPPORT THE PANTRY

Support the Pantry and make a difference in the lives of those that need it most. There are two ways you can help.

Help us stock our shelves and fill food boxes by giving non-perishable food items.

Food donations can be brought to Cornerstone and placed in our donation bins located in the elevator foyer by the church office and in the cafe.
Note: Please check expiry dates.

Suggested Items:

Flour, Sugar, Vegetable or Canola Oil, Salt, Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Kraft Dinner, Canned corn, Canned Diced Tomatoes, Canned Peaches, Canned Fruit Cocktail, Canned Tuna, Canned Salmon, Luncheon Meat, Corned Beef, Canned Chili, Canned or Dried Kidney Beans,Canned or Dried Chickpeas, Peanut Butter, Cereal, Instant Oatmeal, and Pancake Mix

Your donations help provide food and support to families as well supporting Cornerstone’s connections with local fresh fruit and veggie programs.

NEED FOOD ASSISTANCE?

Existing Client

If you are an existing client, please contact us and schedule a time to pick up your food box. Email us at pantry@cornerstonechurch.ca OR leave a voicemail at 905-294-3554 ext 3663.

New Client

If you are experiencing food insecurity and are a resident of Markham or Stouffville, please complete our Food Support Application Form and a member of the Food Pantry team will be in touch with you. We know it can be hard to ask for help sometimes. We’re all in this together so let us help you access the food that you and your family need at this time.

Our intake process: 

  • Fill out the Food Support Application form OR Email us at pantry@cornerstonechurch.ca 
  • A volunteer will call you for an intake to help us better support your needs. 
  • We will arrange a time to pick up the food box from our pantry. 
  • When you pick up the food box for the first time, you will be asked to provide one of the following documents to support the primary income of each adult in your household:
    • Most recent income tax Notice of Assessment
    • 3 most recent pay stubs
    • Ontario Works (OW)
    • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
    • Pension
    • Old Age Security (OAS) and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
