Hi my name is Faith I’m in grade 7 and I have been a part of this church for around like 5-6 years.

My family has always been Christians. So I was raised from a young age to believe in Christ. My mother and father are the ones who raised me as a Christian. So naturally I became a “believer” in Christ. So I thought. I always had these questions and doubts about being christian and that will never go away and this past 2 years I had more thoughts. Would God actually save me? Was I a Christian because my parents were Christians? I didn’t really know my identity being a Christian. The love and faith you must have for God must be yours not someone else’s.

Jesus dying on the cross I thought was amazing that someone would sacrifice their own precious life to save me. When I grasped that I was sinner and that I was doomed to die. It felt that God really loved me and cared for me. Jesus died on the cross really symbolizes a lot of things like the perfect lamb that was slaughtered for sinners like us. I thought that was a really powerful moment in the Bible.

I know that I will always have God to guide me and lead me through the path he wants me to go. For a long time whenever the Church would announce baptism. I had this little tug on my heart. Should I go? If you know my sister Joy she recently got baptized in Roatan on a mission trip, and that to me was really something I look up to her for. To hear that she took that leap of faith gave me the encouragement that I needed. Also my best friend Isaac was going to get baptized too. But most importantly it was to set an example for youth. I’m in grade 7 for those who don’t know me. When you see people up on the stage you normally see like young adults. If I was attending the service and saw a youth do that I think they could do it maybe I could too. That’s the main reason why I want to get baptized. I think it is time because I feel like God’s calling me. I would like to thank my family, my friends, pastors, everyone who supported me in my journey for God.

Acts 22: 16 And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name. (NLT) Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you becausE you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (NLT)
