Cornerstone Church’s Backpack Drive ensures children in our community start the school year prepared and confident. In addition, your contribution directly supports families through our Food Pantry, local schools, and community partners.

By participating, you’re not just donating supplies—you’re investing in a child’s future. As a result, a well-equipped student feels confident, stays engaged in learning, and has the tools to succeed academically. Your support strengthens the community and demonstrates shared responsibility for the next generation.

Drop off by August 23, 2026

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

Pick up a backpack

First, collect one (or more) new or gently used backpack(s) from your local store or online retailer.

Fill it with school supplies

Next, equip the backpack with essential items, such as:

  • Water bottle, pens, pencils, highlighters, pencil crayons, glue sticks, a calculator, erasers, notebooks, duotangs (2-3), paper, 1″ binder, and a pencil case.

Drop it off

Finally, All backpacks and supplies can be dropped off in the bin in the Cornerstone Cafe by August 23rd, 2026. Our address is: 9680 Ninth Line, Markham, ON L6B 1A8
