Homeward Bound
SATURDAY
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
Psalm 23:1 (NIV)
After a full week, it was time to return.
We packed up and everything fit into our rental car, which was itself a prayer answered as it freed Bonita from having to drive us and she and Bera could get the rest that they very much needed.
Upon returning our rental car at the airport, we found out that it had been very difficult for people to obtain vehicles that week. More reasons to give praise to our Jehovah Jireh (our Provider) as it did not even cross our minds that it would be an issue!
After a VERY smooth check-in, baggage drop and security check, we were able to have our final team devotion and prayer, led by Josh, who also gave us paper to write notes of encouragement to each other. What a balm for the heart that was and a perfect way to end the trip!
We do not leave empty handed though as we take with us the many mosquito bites…just kidding…the many memories of the week, including ways the Lord encouraged us, challenged us, and revealed His Sovereignty to us. We are so thankful to our brothers and sisters in Christ at NWFM for their generous hospitality; for Bera and Bonita’s leadership and example of how to serve with faithful perseverance and joy; and for the endless enthusiasm and energy of the NWFM team who treated us like family from the very beginning. We are also thankful for our many supporters, especially those that helped us raise funds at the very last minute, and our personal prayer teams who carried and covered us with their intercession throughout the week. May God bless you all abundantly!
There will likely be more that the Lord will be teaching us as we reflect on the experiences of the past week and spend time in His word and in His presence. We look forward to sharing more of our experiences with you upon our return and pray that more hearts would be stirred.
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
