CAMP COUNSELOR

Contract Dates: June 29 – August 7, 2026
Hourly Wage: $16.60 – $18.00

In working alongside the camp team, the camp counselor’s primary role will be to lead campers through daily camp activities while ensuring camper safety, inclusion, and needs are cared for. They will work in a team to create a fun and healthy community for campers to grow in and appropriately communicate with parents regarding campers day-day activities.

  • Execute the day-to-day activities of the assigned camp program for grades ranging SK – Gr. 6 and/or grades 7-9
  • Interact with campers and encourage them to participate in activities developed for hands-on learning and character development
  • Ensuring the program is accessible to all campers by implementing modifications and pre-planned individualised programming where necessary
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and lead games and activities related to the camp theme
  • Ensuring the safety of campers by following ratio and checking if needs are met 
  • Assist in the smooth pick-up and drop-off of campers 
  • Communicating with the Camp Director or Coordinator when problems arise and actively work together to problem solve throughout the day or during team meetings
  • Communicate with parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback on their child’s day-day activities 
  • Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery
  • Help with set-up and clean up of each camp day 
  • Assist the camp coordinator as needed with camp operations 
  • When assigned, supervise children in before or after care program

SUPPORT STAFF

Contract Dates: June 29 – August 7, 2026
Hourly Wage: $16.60 – $18.00

The camper support team will work to support campers with disabilities or complex behaviours who need 1-1 support. Their primary duties will be to implement the individualized or modified programming for campers and ensure their needs are met. As well as, assist in camper inclusion and camper behaviour management for groups who need additional support.

  • Provide 1-1 support for campers with disabilities or complex needs 
  • Help campers build positive connections and encourage social cohesion and community inclusivity 
  • Advocate and communicate with Camp Director for camper needs and additional supports 
  • Implement inclusive programming that can be individualized and modified for children with disabilities
  • Support camp groups in camper inclusion and behaviour management 
  • Collaborate with team members to lead games and activities related to the camp theme

YOUTH CAMP COORDINATOR

Contract Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
Hourly Wage: $19.00–$20.00

*Start date and June hours are flexible for the right applicant. Must be available to work full time hours from June 29 – August 7.

In collaboration with the Camp Director, the Youth Camp Coordinator will help plan and execute the specialty STEAM and leadership camp programs, for grades ranging from 4 – 9. As well as, assist in the training and mentorship of the camp staff team and support the day-day overall camp operations as needed.

  • Oversee all youth camps (ranging from 12 – 20 campers/week) and assist in the planning and execution of STEAM and leadership camp programming
  • Support staff and volunteers with program execution and camp supervision 
  • Facilitate camp activities and prep weekly supplies as needed
  • Plan and book special events for youth camps
  • Act as a direct liaison with parents, campers, and camp counsellors to ensure program success
  • Ensure day-to-day safety of the youth camps including first aid issues
  • Proactively identify and solve problems and areas of concerns
  • Foster a community of belonging, social cohesion, and respect 
  • Assist in helping with camper behaviour management by providing additional support to camp groups
  • Lead Camp Counselor team by developing training materials and facilitating check-ins
  • Maintain high levels of staff/volunteer morale and provide mentorship and support for camp team 
  • Role model camp culture and staff expectations
  • Lead set-up and clean up of each camp day 
  • While training will be provided, basic knowledge related to engineering principles, robotics, and basic computer programming (i.e. scratch) is preferred for the role
