Social Media Strategist

As the Social Media Strategist, your primary objectives are to create brand awareness of Cornerstone community, launch and promote initiatives and generate traffic to our website. You will possess expertise in social media, influencer marketing, and content creation to maintain and grow Cornerstone’s social media presence.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the mission at Cornerstone and is naturally energetic, dynamic, innovative, creative, and love being in front of the camera.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Communications Director to develop, establish and maintain Cornerstone social media marketing strategies to meet ministry objectives
  • Oversee all digital content presented on social media, such as church events, sermons, life-change stories, etc.
  • Attend church events in order to create, edit, publish, and share consistent, relevant content (original text, images, video) that creates meaningful moments of connection for our online community
  • Collaborate with graphic designer to create relevant graphics for social media campaigns
  • Create, maintain, and grow new and existing social networks
  • Daily interaction with our online community through intentional messaging, comment, and response management
  • Monitor social media progress using web analytic tools and review the success of campaigns and develop ways to improve with Communications Director

Professional Skills

  • 3–5 years of social media experience
  • Knowledge of marketing concepts, terms, and strategies
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Must have design skills
  • Solid understanding of the social channels and how to adapt and maximize content per channel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write copy/captions for all social media posts
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects
  • Self-motivated, ability to adapt to needs and requirements
  • Facebook and Google advertising experience is valued but not required
  • Blogging and podcasting experience is valued but not required

  • Agrees and aligns with the vision, mission, values, and statement of faith at Cornerstone 

Other Details

  • Part-time position
  • 25 hours per week (hours to be allocated over weekdays, weekends and occasional evenings)
  • Target Start Date – February 1, 2022
  • Must complete Vulnerability Sector Screening
  • Must show proof of vaccination as approved by Health Canada or medical exemption
  • Preferably attend Cornerstone Church
  • Reports to Communications Director
