Street outreach with City Street Outreach

CSO Care Packages

Our partner, City Street Outreach bring hope, encouragement and the good news of Jesus to homeless and low income individuals in Toronto. They meet tangible needs and provide food, clothing and other supplies. Homeless and low income individuals have been left especially vulnerable during these last few months. You can provide encouragement and love to those that are spending Christmas alone.

Help us put together essential items for 250 care packages that can be handed out to those that come on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

Please email Bethany Nolson with the number of Care Packages you plan to make.

FIND OUT HOW

  • Each care package should include the following items: Toothbrush and toothpaste, a pack of baby wipes, a $10 gift card (Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, Subway, Pizza, etc), a package of nuts or trail mix, a pair of warm socks, a pair of gloves, a warm hat, a reusable mask, a box of protein or granola bars, a small bottle of hand sanitizer, a comb, and some candies or a chocolate bar. Download your shopping list.
  • Please assemble these items into a reusable tote bag – Ensure the items are new.
  • Include a handwritten note to let individuals know that they are loved and we are thinking of them. See sample note below:

“Merry Christmas! We just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and praying for you during this season! We hope that you enjoy these gifts and have a good day! From, Cornerstone Christian Community Church”

  • If you are unable to collect all the items needed for a care package that is okay! Please just list the remaining items on a piece of paper and pin it to the outside of the bag.
  • Please drop off your Care Packages at Cornerstone Centre between December 1st and December 16th.

Verbo Christian Church, Nicaragua

Verbo has continued their work to encourage and bless their community during this difficult season by providing care for those in need. One of their projects is to complete a Sunday School building on their land. As a valued partner, we want to contribute to this project.

The funds raised will go to building a fence around the entire property which includes the church, school, and farm. This will keep the property and crops safe and secure while keeping unwanted animals and pests from entering the land.
