Our dedicated adult coaches teach kids basketball skills and talk about the importance of developing character both on and off the court. We use the 10 traits from York Region's Character Matters Program (respect, responsibility, honesty, empathy, fairness, initiative, perseverance, integrity, courage and optimism). Players divide into teams and play lots of full court ball! Currently, we have an average of 40-50 boys per week. We also have a mentoring program where 7 high school students per year are brought through a leadership course and given hands-on experience leading the junior session, and are credited with volunteer hours. Each week, awards are given for those who show sportmanship and character.
